The Northwestern Lehigh boys lacrosse team moved closer to clinching a spot in the District 11 playoffs on Tuesday with a 10-8 win over Freedom.
The season is down to seven games for the Tigers, and they need just two wins to guarantee a return to districts where they were runner-up last season and District 11 champions in 2023.
Tyler Kaas led the scoring for Northwestern as he struck four times and assisted on another goal. Michael Lagowy and Kendall Wikert both scored twice for the Tigers with Lagowy also adding two assists. Braydon Uricchio and Logan Uricchio both had a goal and Austin Bittenbender contributed with two assists in the game.
After being on a roller coaster for most of the season, Northwestern has now won three of its last four games to move to 7-4 on the season.
The upcoming schedule is a tough one with home games against Easton (14-0), Nazareth (9-4), and Moravian Academy (6-4). The final four games of the season are against Northampton (4-9), Saucon Valley (2-7), Southern Lehigh (6-4), and a rematch with Moravian Academy.
