An intergenerational event

There was something for “every-bunny” at First Presbyterian Church’s Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Festival April 19, as the merry morning included family-friendly face painting, fun eats like popcorn, temporary tattoos, photo booth, arts and crafts and even an adult round of Easter egg hunting.

The event was postponed from April 12 due to rain, but warm spring temperatures on the Saturday morning before Easter offered the perfect backdrop for the festivities.

“It’s a fun, intergenerational event,” said the Rev. Lindsey Altvater Clifton, associate pastor for justice and community impact. “And it’s fun to watch the grown-ups go running for eggs.”

First Presbyterian at 2344 Center St. is guided by three pastors: the Rev. Karen Kinney, transitional pastor who arrived in March; the Rev. Suzanne Trump, pastoral associate for compassion; and Pastor Altvater Clifton, who noted the church has been hosting the event since pre-pandemic years.

Pastor Clifton said those attending were a mix of preschool families and community families.
