John ‘JJ’ Jeffery Joseph Wagner
John “JJ” Jeffery Joseph Wagner, 80, of Northampton, died April 25, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Angela A. (Miller) Wagner for 59 years.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of the late Kenneth R. Sr. and Loretta (McCrodden) Wagner.
He served two overseas tours with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a career military man, serving as a unit supply specialist and retiring after 20 years.
He was a decorated Army veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal with a V device, Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, two overseas bars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Expert Rifle-M16A1, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Medal with a numeral 2, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with a numeral 2 and Combat Infantry Badge.
He was a life member of Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293 in Egypt.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lucinda M. Smith, Jennifer Jean Lacroix and husband Floyd and Melissa A. Young and husband Al; four grandchildren, Ryan Grube, Julia Senick, Laci V. Smith and Daphne Senick; five brothers, Kenneth R. Jr., Jerome E. and wife Valerie, Robert A. Sr. and wife Elizabeth, Donald and wife Sally and Michael and wife Mary.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brooke Grube; a son-in-law, Ricky Smith; and a brother, Keith.
There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a military service with honors, May 2 at the funeral home, 1145 Lehigh St., Allentown.
