Renaissance honors resident
April 21 was a very special day for Renaissance Home resident Helen (Ruch) Odenwelder. She celebrated her 104th birthday with family, friends, staff and Northampton Mayor Anthony Pristash at the senior living facility, 1001 Washington Ave., Northampton.
Helen was born and raised in Northampton. She grew up on a farm in Kreidersville and attended school in Northampton. Before World War II, she worked in a factory as a seamstress.
She was married to Warren Odenwelder for 67 years, and they raised two daughters. Subsequently, they have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
