Ruth L. (Lengel) Hensinger, 100, of Allentown, formerly of Slatington, died April 15, 2025 in her home. She was the wife of the late Claude E. Hensinger. Born in Neffs, North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Irvin H. and Florence (Smith) Lengel.
A graduate of the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1946, she was a visiting nurse in Philadelphia and taught public health at the former Allentown General Hospital. She was a past matron of the Slatington Chapter No. 458, O.E.S. in 1961. She was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, where she formerly served on council, sang in the choir, was a member of various committees and held Eucharist duties.
She is survived by a son, David M. and his wife, Kim Ann Shollenberger, of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; grandsons, Caleb and his wife, Exodia Demosthene, of Atlanta, Ga. and Nathan, of California. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan M. Thomas; siblings, Thomas Lengel, Marion Fields and Kathryn Rex.
