A 35-year-old male, of Lower Macungie Township, has been identified as a pedestrian struck by a tractor trailer truck in Coopersburg early April 13.

In a news release dated April 14, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center identified David Andrew Mayers as the person pronounced dead 4:25 a.m. at the accident scene in the 300 block of South Third Street, also designated as Pennsylvania Route 309 in Coopersburg.

Mayers died of blunt force injuries, according to authorities. The manner of death was determined to be an accident.

The accident happened at approximately 3:25 a.m. April 13.

The Coopersburg Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and the Lehigh County Crash Team are among investigating agencies.
