St. Joseph the Worker member

Mary E. (King) Yourgal, 97, of Allentown, died peacefully April 18, 2025, at Holy Family Manor – Bethlehem, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Yourgal to whom she was married 42 years. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Campion) King.

She was employed as a sales representative for Avon® for 43 years before retiring. She lived a life filled with love of family, faith and unwavering dedication to Jesus Christ. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

She was very involved in her church as she was a member of many church organizations. She started the pierogi making group and was the chairperson for many years. She was also a member of the church choir for over 50 years and a member of the Allentown Sweet Adelines.

Along with singing, she also enjoyed crocheting blankets, scarves and hats for her family and friends. She made and donated lap blankets to retirement communities in the Allentown area.

She is survived by sons, Joseph G. and his wife, Darlene, of Millersville, James D., of Allentown; sisters, Catherine Hnatishin, of Whitehall, Teresa Rapoli, of Minersville; grandson, Joseph A., of Millersville.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Janyl Marie; a sister, Betty Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. April 24, at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph P.T. Smith will be the celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. before the Mass in the church.
