Korean War veteran
Fred Pansing Jr., 93, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Whitehall, died Dec. 17, 2024, in the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, where he had been living. He was the husband of the late June E. (Hencelman) Pansing who died in June. Fred and June had a vow renewal on Feb. 14, 2024, to celebrate their 70 years of marriage. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Fred and Ruth (Fitzmaurise) Pansing. He faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a loan officer for the former First National Bank for 18 years before retiring April 1, 1973. He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C. Mickleys.
There were no immediate survivors. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Joan Miles.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:30 p.m., May 6 at Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Sinking Spring. There are no public calling hours.
