Eugene H. “Butch” Gilbert, 82, of South Whitehall Township, died April 10, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Bonnie J. (Xander). Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Pearl I. (Nichol) and Humphrey G.W. Gilbert.

A 1960 graduate of Dieruff High School, he then served with the Navy during the Vietnam War as a CTR3 in the naval security group. He was employed at Wells Fargo as a computer operator for 35 years. He was a family man who enjoyed fishing, working in his garage, spending time at the dude ranch and being the family handyman.

He is survived by a daughter, Becky; sons, Greg, Kevin (and wife, Kim); grandson, Gregory; great-granddaughter, Karli; brother, Tim (and wife, Pat); sister-in-law, Debra Roulston; nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by son, Ryan; sisters, Rachel Smith and Lucille Reitmeir.

A service will be held 2 p.m. April 17 at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Calling hour is 1 p.m. until service time. (www.stephensfuneral.com)
