Enjoy breakfast at the Schnecksville Fire company April 27

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club will host a basket social in the Schnecksville Co. Pavilion May 2. Doors open 5:30 p.m. and the raffle will begin 7 p.m. Tickets with 25 on a sheet may be purchased at the door. People must be present to win. More than 100 baskets are expected to be available. There will be food, beverages and a bake sale.

Organizer Carol Bloss explains the event used to take place in fall, but it is refreshing to have it in May with the themes oriented toward flowers, spring, summer and seasonal items for this time of year.

She said another change is the move to Friday night at the end of the school and work week so people can relax and not worry about getting up early the next day. “We have a really good time at the basket social. It is a lot of fun,” Bloss said.

Volunteers at the Schnecksville Fire Company will be cooking up the last all-you-can-eat buffet style breakfast of this season 8 a.m. to noon April 27.

These will be served along with the sausage, creamed chipped beef, home fries, pancakes, toast, any style eggs and beverages. For an additional charge, guests can enjoy a mimosa drink with their meal. The next breakfast is planned for September.
