Emmaus Recycling event on April 26

Local businesses and nonprofit organizations are teaming up to host the Clear Out the Clutter Recycling Event, a community-driven initiative focused on responsibly recycling electronics and donating essential items to those in need.

This event, organized by Mid-Atlantic Technology Professionals and Tech Outlet in partnership with Diane Davidson, Realtor – Keller Williams; Dina and Ted, real estate agents – Keller Williams; and Here for You Concierge, provides an opportunity for people to declutter their homes while giving back to the community.

This event will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26 at Mid-Atlantic Technology Professionals, 555 Harrison Street, Emmaus.

It is open to everyone, regardless of where they live.

While it’s being held in Emmaus, they welcome anyone who wants to participate and support these great causes.

Lehigh Valley residents are encouraged to bring old and unused tech items for secure recycling, including computers, monitors, printers, scanners, servers, tablets, and smartphones.

There will be an onsite technician drilling holes with industrial shredder to destroy the data.

In addition to tech recycling, several nonprofit organizations will be on-site to collect donations:

•Through These Hands will be accepting wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, eyeglasses, hearing aids, hospital beds*, mattresses*, linens, as well as orthopedic and surgical supplies which will be distributed to developing countries (*hospital beds and mattresses by appointment only).

•The Nyonblee Cares Foundation will be accepting gently used light-weight clothing, books, small kitchen appliances, dishes, pots and pans for disadvantaged and vulnerable citizens in Liberia.

•The Kindness Project will be accepting new clothing, shoes, infant supplies, and hygiene items for infants through teens to support foster families in Eastern PA.

Join them in clearing out the clutter while giving back to those in need.
