Freedom and Liberty are both vying for postseason lacrosse berths on the girls side and their fate will likely come down to their final games of the regular season.
The Pates (5-6) have won five of their last seven games including a 15-9 win over Liberty last week to push themselves back in district qualifying contention.
Janelle Karabinus had six goals for the Pates, while Saige Carter and Karee Vandever each added four goals apiece to pace the Freedom win. Ari O’Keefe recorded seven saves to help give the Pates a vital win down the stretch over their rivals.
Ellis Corr led the Hurricanes (6-8) with four goals.
Freedom now has five games left on the season, including three this week against Northwestern (4-6), Pleasant Valley (10-2) and Saucon Valley (4-4).
They’ll need every win they can get in order to punch a ticket to districts.
Liberty has four games left and might need to win three in order to qualify for the postseason.
The Hurricanes have Saucon Valley (4-4), Parkland (7-6) and Delaware Valley (3-5) this week before finishing out the season next Thursday against Freedom.
