SALEM CHRISTIAN: “Little Women the Musical”

The 19th century comes back to life with “Little Women the Musical,” 7 p.m. April 24, 25, 26; 1 p.m. April 26, Salem Christian School, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road, Zionsville.

Director Gretchen Geyer is assisted by Music Director Olya Howard, Assistant Director Christian Howard, Alumni Student Directors Avery Rogers and Kylie Brinckman, Choreographer Melania Sankar and Technical Director Brian Strausser.

The musical is based on “Little Women,” the semi-autobiographical novel by Louisa May Alcott. Sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March experience heartache, hope and love growing up during the Civil War in the United States.

With music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and book by Allan Knee, the 2005 Broadway musical was nominated for one Tony Award.

Production numbers include “Follow the River,” “Dancing Through Life,” “Wax and Dreams” and “Fall for You.”
