Three Northampton Community College students and one graduate received American Advertising Awards, known as ADDYs, sponsored locally by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
Communication design majors Lilla Szilvasi, Bella Tallarico and Madeleine Wolf and 2024 communication design graduate Christina Balog took home gold and silver in several categories.
The American Advertising Federation of the Greater Lehigh Valley was host of the 2025 awards gala at Cedar Crest College. Winners were joined by NCC peers and communication design faculty.
“On behalf of the entire communication design and art faculty, we want to express how incredibly proud we are of these students and alum. These accomplishments are just one testament to their dedication, hard work and exceptional talent throughout their time at NCC. Through the program, they’ve not only honed their creativity but also deepened their readiness for the professional industry,” said NCC Art Professor Sarah Sterner-Hausknecht.
The students and alum earned the following for their designs:
Silver Winner: Tallarico’s integrated branding campaign, “The Juicy Goosey” juice truck
Silver Winner: Wolf’s advertising campaign, “Taco Bell After Hours”
Silver Winner: Balog’s animated app promotion, “Roadtrippers”
Gold Winner and Judges’ Choice Award: Szilvasi’s package design, “Braquar,” for a series of artisanal vinegar flavors.
Designs are entered into this three-tier competition consisting of local, district and national awards. The local level is the first step toward winning district and-or national recognition. As a Gold winner, Szilvasi will automatically advance to districts.
