A turn-of-the-century matchmaker arrives on stage in “Hello, Dolly!,” 7 p.m. April 25, 26; 2 p.m. April 27, auditorium, Dieruff High School, 815 N. Irving St., Allentown.
Director, Producer, Set Designer Kim Carson is assisted by Assistant Director, Choreographer Jaedon Muhl, Music Directors Sebastian Paff and Stacy Bechtel, and Pit Director Nick Conti. Lighting and Sound are by Anthony Forchielli of City Entertainment. Costumes are by Jaedon Muhl and Kim Carson.
Based on Thornton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker,” music and lyrics are by Jerry Herman and book is by Michael Stewart.
The original 1964 Broadway production received 10 Tony Awards of 11 nominations. The 1978 and 1995 Broadway revivals each received one Tony nomination. The 2017 Broadway revival received four Tonys of 10 nominations.
