April is National Poetry Month.
Check out the displays in the library for inspiration!
There is always something new to celebrate or catch your interest.
Now located by the reference desk, the garden seed library is back!
You can check out up to three packets of seeds for free with your library card and watch your vegetables grow.
If you end up with too many for your family, consider donating them to Plant-a-Row.
They pick up donations of fresh vegetables from the library weekly during the summer and distribute them to local food banks.
The children’s area now has a light table, a LEGO table, hopscotch, new wall toys and a lot more board books to choose from, thanks to a Family Place grant.
Looking for a gift?
Consider stopping by the Friends of the Library book shop for some great deals on books, puzzles and more.
Look for the library at the Festival of the Arts 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 at Parkland High School.
As usual, we have events for all ages throughout the month. Check our calendar for details.
The Summer Reading Club is on the horizon.
The library has prizes and incentives for family literacy, thanks to generous donations from various community businesses and organizations.
Save the date for the Summer Reading Club kickoff party 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14.
Maryellen Kanarr is the executive director of the Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall.
