Retired Bethlehem Police sergeant and DeSales University Chief Steven Marshall, 62, died in a traffic collision in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, April 4.
Marshall’s motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver around 1:30 p.m.
According to reports, the driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old woman, did not stop after the accident and was soon arrested on multiple charges.
A social media post by BPD stated, “His dedication, professionalism, and commitment during his more than two decades of service left an indelible mark on our department and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Sgt. Marshall’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy and contributions to the department will not be forgotten. The Bethlehem Police Department is grateful for the hard work of the South Carolina Highway Patrol for their investigation of the accident that claimed Sgt. Marshall’s life.”
