Track and field teams fall to Northwestern
The Tiger boys came out on top 85-65, while the Northwestern girls ran away with a 112-33 victory over Catasauqua in track and field action last week.
Despite the losses, Catty had several standouts in the meet.
Hamaad Jenkins won two events for the boys as did Josiah Lafond. Jenkins won the 100 in 11.1 and the 400 in 52.7. Lafond was a winner in both hurdle events, taking the 110 in 15.2 and the 300 in 41.8.
Other winners for the Catty boys were Jeremiah Cofie in the 200 with a time of 23.1, Emmanual Bolmer in the long jump with a 20-8.75 and Jonathan Cordon-Pinto in the pole vault, clearing 9-6.
On the girls side, Hailey Jenkins was a double-winner as was Julia Harth.
Jenkins won the 100 in 11.8 and the 200 in 25.4. Hart took the 100 hurdles in 18.1 and also the triple jump with a distance of 31-0.
Alyssa Baker was the only other winner for the girls, she won the discus with a toss fo 76-3.
