Based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of redemption and political turmoil, “Les Misérables: School Edition” takes to the barricades, 7 p.m. April 2, 3, 4, 5; 3 p.m. April 6, auditorium, Parkland High School, 2700 N. Cedar Crest Boulevard, South Whitehall Township.
Director Lori Colacito is assisted by Vocal Director Alison Lagan, Pit Orchestra Director Allison Figueroa, Choreographer Ashley Weller, Technical Director Nathan Zwart, Costume and Light Designer William Morris, Set Designer-Scenic Painter, Katrina Miller, Sound Designer JT Moyer and Producer Andrea Roposh.
The music is by Claude-Michel Schönberg, with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and book adapted by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.
The 1987 Broadway production received eight Tony Awards of 12 nominations. The 2014 Broadway revival received three Tony nominations.
