Public Library of Catasauqua: Spring brings new books, activities to Catty library

Welcome March, and welcome spring! At the Public Library of Catasauqua, we’ll be celebrating the change of seasons with fun reading and other activities. Near the front door, there is a display of recommended reading materials about spring; you’ll also find our display of new and popular books.

The library will host a free showing of the movie “The Wild Robot” 11 a.m. March 29 for kids of all ages.

The adult book group meets 3 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month. Members will be discussing ”The Book of Lost Names” by Kristen Harmel April 2.

Mary Todd Lincoln will be stopping by to talk about life in the 19th century 7 p.m. April 9. Linda Minarik, a former history teacher, will be reprising her portrayal of the First Lady.

Tickets can be purchased at the library any time.

The library’s used book and bake sale is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. April 11 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 12.

The Thursday afternoon reading and crafting program for children is held 4 p.m. every week in the children’s room on the second floor.

Keep Them in Stitches meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays for fiber arts fun.
