Four Northampton Area School District Odyssey of the Mind teams — Northampton Area High School, Northampton Area Middle School, Moore Elementary School and Lehigh Elementary School — are advancing to the state competition. The NEPA regional tournament was held Feb. 22 at Pocono Mountain West High School in Pocono Summit.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving competition. Students in kindergarten through grade 12 must solve a problem in a performance that includes original costumes, scenery and technical elements.
The region includes Northampton, Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties. The tournament included 400 students from 29 different K-12 schools.
The advancing teams will compete again April 5 at Pocono Mountain East High School for the state tournament.
