Class of 2024 Top 10 students recognized

A breakfast was held at Salisbury High School May 22 to celebrate with parents and guardians this year’s Top 10 seniors.

Addressing those in attendance, SHS Principal Heather Morningstar spoke of these students’ dedication, pointing out, “They have worked diligently over the last 13 years, in most cases, to accomplish what they have accomplished. They have set themselves apart, both academically and in their extracurricular activities as well.”

Each senior received an honor cord to wear at graduation.

After the breakfast ceremony, Nolan Gredja took time to reflect on his 13 years as a Salisbury student, saying, “I would argue that I pull my dedication and hard work from Salisbury just because I’ve worked so hard to this point.”

He went on to say being in the Top 10 reflects “everything that I did was hard work.”

For Thomas Lovelidge, this senior year holds many memories, including the special friendships and life lessons he’s been learning this baseball season.

“Putting in all that hard work and seeing it pay off,” as the team works together to try to get to states, has taught Lovelidge not to give up.

Jacob Knerr is not only part of the Top 10, but also this year’s class valedictorian.

“It feels nice. I’m excited to do my graduation speech. I think that will be really neat.”

He’s already started his speech.

“I have my rough draft finished. I’ve just got to perfect it and make sure it’s good.”

Along with Knerr, Grejda and Lovelidge, Shauna Connelly, Han Kloosterman, Macy Newman, Makayla Seidel, Rachel Smith, George Spann and William Sterner make up this year’s Top 10.
