Anthony L. Kubiak Jr., 75, from Orefield, died peacefully on May 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his residence.
He and his wife, Rosemary (Pond) Kubiak, were married 47 years.
Born Aug. 3, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Anthony Kubiak Sr. and Sophia (Trentowski) Kubiak.
He was an electrical engineer at Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) for 41 years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.
Known as Skip or Tony to family and close friends, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hiking, and pretty much any activity in the outdoors where he could connect with and admire the beauty of nature and wildlife.
He enjoyed photography and electronics, being very adept at keeping pace with different technologies as they evolved over decades.
He also had a wide variety of interests which included cooking and baking, and he dearly loved the family pet cat, Cody, along with animals of all kinds.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by stepchildren Timothy S. Lybolt of Wilkes-Barre, and Stacey J. Bolesta (Gregory) of Plymouth; siblings Michael A. Kubiak (Suzanne) of York, Susan R. Mendenhall (Gary) of Oxford, and Mary Anna J. Secunda (Jesse) of Collegeville; grandchildren Christine, Jared and Gregory.
