Salisbury Elementary School PTO meeting May 6

The last general PTO meeting of Salisbury Elementary School will be May 6. An ice cream social will be held 6 p.m. before the meeting begins. Please bring your favorite topping to share. The meeting will consist of elections for a new treasurer and plans for the rest of this school year (can you say Ice Cream festival?). Thank you PTO for all you do for the staff and students of SES.

The last day to order SES yearbooks is May 3. You can fill out and send in the paper form sent home or visit ChristmasCitystudio.com and fill in the password of SalESYB24 to order. You know you want one.

The Salisbury High School spring concert will be held 7 p.m. May 7 in the auditorium.

The Salisbury Art Show will be open to families 5-8 p.m. May 8 at SHS. Salisbury Elementary School students will be visiting the art show during the school day May 9.

May 10 will be an early dismissal for all district schools. The high school and middle school will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and SES will dismiss 1:15 p.m.

You know the end is in sight when field day rolls around. SES field day is May 14. Kindergarten through second grade will participate 9:45-11:15 a.m. Third and fourth grade will participate 1:15-2:45 p.m. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately, wearing light clothes and sneakers and has a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Don’t forget every Friday is school T-shirt day at SES. Let’s show our Falcon pride!

Kindergarten registration is open. If you, or someone you know who lives in Salisbury Township, has a child who will turn 5 before Aug. 31, 2024 register online through the school website. Don’t delay; kindergarten screening begins May 14. For questions, or to enroll on paper, contact Shannon Rooney at SES at 610-791-2800.

The Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church’s Ladies Aid Society is holding a shoofly pie fundraiser. If you are interested in purchasing this Pennsylvania Dutch dessert, contact a member of the Ladies Aid Society or the church office at 610-797-4242.

Yard waste drop-offs are open. The Franko site will be open May 2, 4 and 13 and Devonshire will be open May 6, 9 and 11. As always, hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
