Lower Macungie Middle School recognized in video contest

A team of students from Lower Macungie Middle School were recognized for outstanding creativity for their entry in the “What so Cool About Manufacturing?” Lehigh Valley Student Video Contest recently.

The team created a video for temperature control firm JULABO.US, Allentown.

Students were recognized in a ceremony at Stabler Convocation and Events Center at Lehigh University March 26.

Students from 30 middle schools participated in the event.

Each team of students submitted a two-minute video about a Lehigh Valley manufacturer. Each video was reviewed by a panel of judges for recognition in 11 categories including: Outstanding Overall Program, Outstanding Editing, Outstanding Creativity, Outstanding Cool, Outstanding Team Spirit, Outstanding Educational Value, Outstanding Videography, Outstanding Outreach Plan, Outstanding Career Pathway, Best Career & Technical Education Story and Outstanding Brand Placement.

A Viewer’s Choice Award, based on a three-day voting period, was given to the video which earned the most votes on the website www.whatssocool.org.

The LMMS video features agents on a secret mission to JULABO.

The event included a reception featuring culinary arts students from Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School, Career Institute of Technology and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute as well as a cupcake competition.

Four winning teams in the Lehigh Valley competition will move on to participated in the annual statewide competition in May.
