John R. Stranzl

John R. Stranzl, 70, of Allentown, died April 8, 2024.

He was a talented musician, artist and painter, known to his friends and fellow musicians as “Johnny Jam.” Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John J. and Helen M. (Yagerhofer) Stranzl.

He played guitar, harmonica, sang and wrote songs and had his own band, the Rebeltones.

He also performed with the Trendsetters, Rhythm Jacks and many other musicians throughout the area.

He loved fishing and trains.

He was a 1971 graduate of Parkland High School.

He is survived by sisters, Mary Ann, wife of Matt Frinzi, of Breinigsville, Rita, wife of Tom Cramer, of Nazareth, Janet, wife of Jody Arner, of New Ringgold; niece, Jennifer Cramer, of Long Island, N.Y.; nephews, Jeffrey Cramer, his wife, Gaby and their children, Dara and Zoey, of Nazareth, Tom Cramer, his wife, Jeneen and their children, Tommy and Sadie, of Nazareth; Mike Frinzi, his wife, Ruby and their daughter, Milana, of Macungie, Matthew Frinzi, his wife, Stacey and their children, Roman and Monte, of West Chester.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a charity of one’s choice.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. April 24 at Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, South Whitehall. Visitation is 10-11 a.m.
