Freedom tennis splits

Freedom’s boys tennis team was on the winning end of a 4-3 match against Northampton and the losing end of a 4-3 match against Emmaus after playing a doubleheader on April 6 at Freedom.

The Patriots swept all singles matches against the Konkrete Kids with Noah Rodburg winning, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1, Luke Braido winning, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2, and Matt Davis winning, 7-6(6), 6-0, at No. 3.

The Pates’ doubles teams didn’t fare as well, but Rodburg and Braido teamed up to secure the match with an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

In Freedom’s match against Emmaus, Rodburg won, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, and Eric Wu stepped in at No. 3 singles to win, 6-4, 6-2.

Davis teamed up with Hardeep Sandhu to win the No. 2 doubles match, 6-1, 6-2.

Liberty’s tennis team remained undefeated with a 6-1 victory over Nazareth on April 1.

In singles play, Luke Appleman won, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1, Roman Farhad won, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2, and David Broczkowski lost his match at No. 3, 4-6, 6-4, 1-6.

In doubles play, the Hurricanes swept all matches with Elijah Quan and Leo Babbin, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2, Finn Brown and Connor Ohl, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3, and Caden Vermuelen and EJ Powers, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4.

Micah Steck and Thomas Horvath were winners at No. 1 doubles, 8-0.

Earlier this season, the Hurricanes defeated Parkland, 7-0.

Bethlehem Catholic’s most recent match ended with a victory for the Golden Hawks over Whitehall, 6-0, on April 5.

Xavier Shive-Sanchez won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, John Vallance won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and

Liam Maloney won at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Derrick Hartman and Kendryck Silva were No. 2 doubles winners, 6-1, 6-1, Tyler Lennert and Henry Russell won at No. 3 doubles, 6-2, 6-2, and Nico Massa and Ralston Rowlands won at No. 4 doubles, 7-5, 6-2.
