John P. Robertson

John P. Robertson, 84, of Emmaus, died April 2, 2024, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Virginia S. (Sommer) Robertson. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Helen (Walker) Robertson.

He started his career as a funeral director in Youngstown, Ohio. Later he worked as a purchasing agent for Rodale Manufacturing. He later became a salesman for Charles H. Gardner Co., which in 1976, he purchased and moved the business to Emmaus, retiring in 2016.

He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus.

He was a longtime member of the Optimist Club International, serving as past president.

He was active in the boat crew re-enactment at Washington Crossing since 1975.

He enjoyed his ROMEOS time and ate daily at the Trivet in Emmaus and Wert’s Cafe.

He was an avid woodworker, reader and enjoyed the outdoors and photography. He loved traveling and camping, especially to Chincoteague Island.

He is survived by a son, Jonathan P. and his wife, Priscilla, of Emmaus; daughters, Jennifer R. and her husband, Stephen Wenzel, of Blandon, Nancy B. and her husband, Ben Queen, of Newport Beach, Calif., Heather A. and her husband, Thomas Walpole, of Oceanside, Calif.; grandchildren, Bradley Wenzel and his wife, Morgan, Devin Wenzel and his wife, Gabrielle, Hadley Queen, Calvin; brother, David and his wife, Elizabeth, of Petaluma, Calif.
