EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade in Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom is Tara Furniss, my siblings are Aidan Furniss, Eric Furniss, Cameron Furniss, Bryan Furniss and my dog’s name is Fergus.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is math because it comes easy to me and I have a lot of friends also in those classes.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I was inducted into National Honor Society and German Honor Society. I earned a varsity letter in wrestling. I made high honor roll every marking period.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I played basketball, flag football and I’m on the EHS wrestling team. I was in the Chess Club, Key Club, National Honor Society and the Academic Team. I enjoyed being involved in the school and community. I learned how to exercise, be healthy and manage my time and schoolwork. They have taken up a lot of my after-school time, but I’m a better person because of it.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge would probably be managing my time.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My goal after high school would be to go to college and earn a degree in computer science and a master’s degree in business.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. I hope to emulate my mom because she is very hard working.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone that can be relied on.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Don’t let other people bring you down.
