NHS to host blood drive April 16

It has been a busy few weeks for Salisbury High School National Honor Society, in addition with other clubs at SHS.

Starting off with last week, National Honor Society inducted 31 new members March 25, all deserving of this membership. Not only were new members inducted, but the officers for the 2024-2025 school year took their oath for when they’ll be officers. Congratulations again to Alanah Kemmerer (president), Tyler Kuder (vice president), Maya Suleiman (secretary) and Michael Stauffer (treasurer).

Student Government Advisory held a “Kick Off to Spring Break” pep rally March 27 during the school day. Students wore their class colors and participated in events such as boccie, the three-legged race and human hungry hippos.

SGA would also like to thank all of those who participated during the mini-spirit week and the pep rally.

National Honor Society held its second annual Easter Egg Hunt March 28. With over 100 children between the ages of 2 and 13 signed up, it was an incredibly successful event. NHS volunteers at the event scattered over 2,000 eggs and painted faces for those who wanted a fun Easter design.

Looking ahead, NHS is holding its spring blood drive (second of the year) April 16. Appointments are 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with appointments 2:30-6 p.m. not restricted to just students. The blood drive will be held in the old auxiliary gym and individuals interested in signing up can email Megan Basile at mbasile@salisburysd.org or by visiting www.GIVEaPINT.org and using sponsor code #0490.
