Catasauqua: Church collecting old cellphones

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is collecting old cellphones for recycling. There will be a basket on the glass table in the back of the sanctuary and a box in the hallway outside fellowship hall.

By recycling your used smartphones, cells phones and tablets, you are supporting a Zero Landfill Program, as well as supporting Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley.

Did you know the Lions Club collects used eyeglasses for areas in the world where glasses are an unheard of luxury. The Lions have the glasses polished and shipped to optical missions around the world.

The glasses are spread out, and the community members try on glasses until they find a pair that helps.

Your used glasses can be dropped off at Whitehall Township Public Library or at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church in the small basket in the giving area in the back of the sanctuary or in the basket in the hallway outside the fellowship hall.

Cases are not needed for the glasses.

Thanks to the youth ministry at Holy Trinity Memorial Church! The bunny received your generous donations of candy for this year’s youth-hosted free community egg hunt and bingo event March 30.

The church also had a fantastic turnout to help fill more than 1,000 eggs for the hunt March 17.
