Catasauqua: St. Mary’s plans 3-day basket social

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., is planning to hold a basket social, set for 5-7 p.m. March 22, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. March 23 and then 9 a.m.-noon March 24. The kitchen will also be open.

Tickets will be on sale at the door; however, if you buy advance tickets by March 21, you can take advantage of the buy five, get one free deal. You do not have to be present to win.

Proceeds from this event will benefit St. Mary’s CCD program.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will hold bingo 1 p.m. March 24. Doors will open noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game and more. There will also be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a bag sale on everything through March 28.

The shop’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Thrift shop staff are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular store hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The shop will be closed for Easter, changeover and cleaning March 29-April 3. It will reopen April 4 with all new clothing for spring and summer.

Catty Seniors Plus next meets March 27 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Doors will open noon, and the meeting will begin 1 p.m. There will be a speaker, followed by coffee and cake.
