Senior Center offers various programs

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, will offer the following dances 7-10 p.m. during March in the Trexler Room.

The per person fee includes refreshments.

·March 9: “KATO”

·March 16 and 23: “Johnny K”

They will also be offering the following dance 1-3 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

·March 27: “Johnny K”

The center will also be offering the following dance classes.

·March 11, 18 and 25: Beginner Line Dancing with instructor Peggy Sue Tobias, 12:30 p.m.

·March 7, 14, 21 and 28: Advanced Line Dancing led by instructor Cathy Seidel, 1 p.m.

The following creative arts classes will also be offered.

·March 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27: Arts and Crafts led by Trisha Baker, 9-11 a.m.

·March 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29: Suzanne Bauder’s Art for Everyone, noon.

Help is available. New and advance students are welcome.

·March 7, 14, 21 and 28: Knit and Chat group, 9 a.m.

Stop in, work on your own projects, knit, crochet or embroider.

·March 7, 14, 21 and 28: Junk Journaling and Book Making led by instructor Jean Burd, 10 a.m.

Bring glue sticks, magazines, scissors and scrapbooking supplies, if you have them. No experience needed.

·March 11, 18 and 25: Drawing led by instructor Judy Peters, 9:30 a.m.

Learn how to draw with pencils in this introductory class to composition, outlining and shading.

·March 6: Paint and Wine “Easter bunny” led by Angela Faidley, 6-8 p.m.

Everyone will create their own masterpiece. Price includes materials and wine.

·March 12, 19 and 26: Instructor Bonny Batman’s ceramics, 9 a.m.

Join this fun ongoing class. Price includes paints.

The following class will be offered.

·March 7, 14, 21 and 28: Instructor Ray Royer’s photography composition basics will take place 12:30 p.m.

Learn how to improve your photography using your cellphone or any camera.

The following exercise classes will be offered.

·March 8, 15, 22 and 29: Tai Chi led by instructor Bob Donnelly (Pai Ma Shen), 10:30 a.m.

A holistic exercise that helps reduce stress and promote physical well-being.

·March 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25 and 29: Fit Circuit with instructor Sara Mercer, 12:30 p.m.

This low impact circuit style class, featuring upbeat choreography mixed with strength training, is a great overall cardio workout.

·March 11, 18 and 25: Barre led by instructor Michele Fisher, 10:15 a.m.

A low impact toning class that blends the principals of Pilates, yoga, strength training and ballet to activate your entire body.

·March 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27: Zumba with instructor Grace Conti, 9:30 a.m.

·March 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28: Zumba led by instructor Ed Nickles, 9 a.m. Dancers and non dancers will enjoy these Latin inspired dance fitness classes, which are designed for seniors.

·March 7, 14, 21 and 28: Mat Pilates led by instructor Michele Fisher, 10:30 a.m.

A strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on the core (abdomen and lower back) muscles.

·March 12, 19 and 26: Tai Chi Qigong with instructor Alice Perry, 2:10 p.m.

Very beginner friendly, meditative and peaceful.

The center will also be offering the following class.

·March 6: World War II History “Eisenhower and Bedell Smith” led by instructor Dr. Charles Bonos, 2 p.m.
