A Montgomery County woman died Feb. 4 after being pinned under her vehicle in Catasauqua.

According to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio, Santosh Gupta-Bala, 64, of Blue Bell, was removing items from the trunk of her vehicle just after 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Bridge Court in the borough.

The vehicle began to roll back, Buglio said, and when Gupta-Bala attempted to get back into the vehicle, she fell underneath.

Gupta-Bala was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, where she later died.

Buglio ruled the cause of death as multiple traumatic injuries due to a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident and the manner of death an accident.

In addition to the coroner’s office, Catasauqua Police Department is also investigating.
