Whitehall’s 2024 HOF Class

The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee in the Whitehall-Coplay School District inducted its class of 2024 this past Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Whitehall High School. The ceremony took place prior to the varsity boys game against Parkland.

Kayla Cunningham, Bob Hartman, Mike Lelko and Sean Szerencsits were the inductees.

Cunningham, class of2013 was a multisport athlete who excelled in soccer and field hockey. She is District 11’s all-time leading goal scorer in girls soccer and scored over 100 goals in field hockey in her career.

Hartman is a 1990 graduate of Whitehall and the current Zephyr Director of Activities. Hartman was a multisport athlete and coach before becoming AD in 2002.

Lelko, class of 1976, was a multisport athlete who excelled in cross country and track and field. He also had an outstanding tenure as head cross country coach at WHS.

Szerencsits, class of 2002, made his mark as an athlete who excelled in golf and baseball. Szerensits closed out his high school golf career with a District 11 championship and PIAA second place finish.

The Hall of Fame Committee is also soliciting additional nominees to be considered for the Hall of Fame.
