SHS parent information night Feb. 6

Student Government Advisory members recently attended the January school board meeting Jan. 24 and updated the board on school events.

The second quarter ended Jan. 23. The third quarter and second semester started Jan. 24. Students who had half-year classes will now begin their second-half year classes, full-year classes staying the same.

Those taking an online dual-enrollment college class through Lehigh Carbon Community College began the spring semester the week of Jan. 22. Juniors and seniors who took advantage of this opportunity are looking forward to their respective classes.

Salisbury High School hosted the third of four total debates of the year Jan. 25, during part of the school day. Individuals were able to sign up and help with the debate as chair people and timekeepers. All help was greatly appreciated and this was the final debate of their regular season.

Looking ahead, SHS Theatre will present “The Spitfire Grill” March 14-17. Performers have begun rehearsals and are in the middle of preparations for the show.

National Honor Society is beginning to send out applications to those who qualify for this organization. Induction for all new members will be held March 25. Current officers will get to share a speech and induct all new members.

NHS is also planning an Easter Egg Hunt in late March and preparations have already begun. The egg hunt will take place before Easter and NHS hopes to continue the egg hunt tradition.

There will be a twirling show at SHS Feb. 3.

SHS will hold a parent/guardian information night 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 6 at the school. Leaders will discuss the 2024-2025 course selections.

There will be a SHS baseball cash bingo 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at Salisbury Middle School. Doors open 11:30 a.m. Concession stand is run by the SHS girls basketball team. For more information email SHSFalconBB@gmail.com.

The Sewing for Charity club will sell teddy bears and scrunchies for Valentine’s Day at SHS. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

There will be no school Feb. 16 and Feb. 19.
