Wildlands Conservancy recently announced educational and community events scheduled in February. The event list includes:

Feb. 3

Flying Squirrels @ Thomas Darling Preserve, 9 to 11 a.m. at Thomas Darling Preserve, PA-940 Entrance, 606 PA-940, Pocono Lake. Wildlands Conservancy has flying squirrel nest boxes throughout the preserve; let’s explore this unique habitat and check the nest boxes for flying squirrels. Get Out! for Wellness at D & L Lehigh Tannery, 1 to 3 p.m. at D & L Lehigh Tannery, 501 Main St., White Haven. In the 1860s the second largest tannery in the United States operated in Lehigh Tannery. Pre-K Pathfinders: Mammalogy, 10 to 11 a.m. at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Road., Schnecksville. Pre-K pathfinders is a series of programs for 3-5 year olds and their grown-ups. Enjoy visits from furry animal ambassadors to help understand what makes a mammal unique, then venture outdoors to find evidence of their wild relatives. Owl Paint and Sip, 6 to 8 p.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus. Join us for a paint and sip where we’ll enjoy hot cocoa and paint an owl! Great Backyard Bird Count party, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, Trexler Building, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus. Join the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society and Wildlands Conservancy at the joint GBBC party as we count/record birds and enjoy themed snacks, games and puzzles. Stay as long as you like. Get Out! for Wellness at Bushkill Creek & Pizza, 10 a.m. to noon at Mill Race Park, 2001 Newlins Mill Road, Easton. Join organizers to hike part of the Two Rivers Trailway (part of the former Northern & Eastern Railroad line) and hikers can opt for pizza midway. The hike is accessible and appropriate for all ages.
