Midterm exams scheduled Jan. 17-19

For the 2023-2024 school year, Emmaus High School will administer midterm exams Jan. 17-19, following a regular bell schedule without Hornet Homeroom.

Exams for students’ 1A, 2A and 3A classes will be given Jan. 17. Exams for students’ 4A, 1B and 2B classes will be given Jan. 18. Exams for students’ 3B and 4B classes will be given Jan. 19. Makeup exams will be given Jan. 22-23, offered only to those with an excused absence, including personal illness, family death, religious holiday observance, preapproved educational activity or other special circumstances.

During midterm exams, EHS will follow an open-campus policy, meaning students are only required to be present on campus for their scheduled exams. Students without personal transportation must report to school 7:23 a.m. and will be dismissed via busing 1 p.m.

Additionally, quiet study halls will be held in the Cafeteria 1 and the EHS Library.

All midterm-related inquiries may be directed to a teacher or guidance counselor.

EHS’ Young Republicans Club will host its next meeting 2:30-3:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in Room 310. New members may contact lsmeltz@eastpennsd.org or join the club’s Schoology group with code V7KF-3XNJ-J65F7.

The EHS Orchestra will host its annual coffee house 7-9:30 p.m. Jan. 19 in Cafeteria 1. The event’s rain date is Feb. 15. Find details @ehs__orchestra on Instagram.

Jan. 23 marks the end of the first semester and second marking period. To view schedule changes for the second semester and third marking period, students may access PowerSchool.

Habitat for Humanity will host its next meeting after school Feb. 1 in Room 229, discussing the club’s Valentine’s Day fundraiser. With questions, contact mrusso@eastpennsd.org.

Following a half-day bell schedule, EHS will dismiss 11 a.m. Feb. 2. Lunch services will not be available on this date.

In June 2024, EHS will host a trip to Japan, including stops in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. For more information, visit Room 219 or email asoboleski@eastpennsd.org.
