Library offering programs for kids, teens, adults

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be hosting Wee Build 11:30 a.m.-noon Jan. 5.

Join library staff for lots of fun with constructive play.

This program is for children ages 18 months to age 5 with an adult.

Adults, join library staff and try your luck at bingo 1-2 p.m. Jan. 5.

Bring a small prize to add excitement to each round played.

All games are free to play.

Baby story time for kids ages birth to 15 months with an adult caregiver will take place 10-10:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:15 a.m. Jan. 8 and 15.

The library staff will share simple books, lap bounces, rhymes, and songs all designed to help babies build important social, motor, and early literacy skills.

Toddler Tales for kids ages 18 months to age 3-and-a-half, with a caregiver, will be offered from 10-10:30 a.m. and from 10:45-11:15 a.m. Jan. 9 and Jan. 16.

There will be stories, rhymes, music and movement.

Senior Book Club will meet to discuss the novel, “When Breath Becomes Air,” by Paul Kalanithi 3-4 p.m. Jan. 9 at Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall. Residents and nonresidents are welcome to attend.

The Art of Mindful Breathing will be offered 6-6:45 p.m. Jan. 9.

Join instructor Larissa Noto as she guides participants through breathing exercises.

Participants will leave this class with an accompanying handout with each of the breathing techniques and more to be able to weave the art of mindful breathing into their everyday life.

The Teen Anime Club for kids in grades six to 12 will meet 6:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 10.

Be prepared to watch anime and chat while eating delicious snacks.

Preschool Story Time for kids ages 3-5 will take place 10-10:30 a.m. and from 11-11:45 a.m. Jan. 11 and 18.

There will be story time and craft.

Short Story Society will meet to discuss “Silver Water,” by Amy Bloom, 3-4 p.m. on Jan. 11.

A kids yoga story time for ages 4-10 with yoga instructor Larissa Noto from The Lovely Little Lotus will take place from 4:30-5 p.m. Jan. 15.

A Teen’s Dungeon and Dragon Night for kids in grades seven-12 will take place in-person 6-8 p.m. Jan. 15.

The library’s Reel Reads: A Monthly Journey from Page to Screen is being offered 1-3 p.m. Jan. 16.
