Santa arrives in eastern Salisbury Dec. 16

Happy December! This month usually gets pretty busy within our district with lots of holiday festivities. Be on the lookout for those popping up at respective schools.

It is winter concert season. Salisbury Middle School will hold its holiday concert 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the middle school auditorium.

Salisbury Elementary School will show off its holiday spirit with two holiday concerts. On Dec. 14, kindergarten will perform 9:15 a.m. and first grade will follow 10:15 a.m.

On Dec. 15, second grade will perform 9:15 a.m. and third and fourth grades will follow 10:15 a.m. If you are able, be sure to join your students for their holiday concerts.

Salisbury Township School District is excited to invite residents to join the wellness committee. They are dedicated to promoting the overall health and wellness of the school community as a whole. They are looking for individuals to join their mission to assist in advancing the wellness goals of the district. Are you still looking for something to do this winter? SMS and Salisbury High School winter sports and activities are looking for team members.

Boys and girls basketball, cheerleading, rifle, swimming, twirling, unified boccie and wrestling are all getting things in order for their seasons. For more information, reach out of Monica Deeb, director of student activities at mdeeb@salisburysd.org.

Salisbury Township School District continues its search for motivated individuals who are looking for a great job working with the children of our district as instructional assistants as well as food service positions. For details, visit salisburysd.org/jobs. Paragon Transit also continues to search for bus and van drivers to transport students to and from school.

Eastern Salisbury Fire Department members will escort Santa around the east side of the township Dec. 16. There will be Santa stops around the east side, noted by small yard signs. The route and map are posted to the fire department Facebook page along with estimated arrival times for Santa. More details can be found on the fire department Facebook page.

The Allentown Public Library will display some of the 400 dolls in its collection through Dec. 28. The vast assortment of dolls from many different countries were donated by Harriet Backenstoe and Dorothy Knauss to the Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown.
