DeSales University to select two EHS seniors for free college class

For all new National Honor Society members, the annual induction ceremony will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Emmaus High School auditorium. To attend, all inductees must have remitted dues and submitted an RSVP form before Oct. 31.

Interact Club will hold its next meeting after school Nov. 14 in the EHS cafeteria. The meeting will dismiss by 3:15 p.m. but students may leave earlier if necessary. For details, reach out to akaunitz@eastpennsd.org.

Beginning Nov. 14, Communities in Schools will host six skill-building groups for the second marking period, aiming to promote wellness in EHS students. Group options include COPE, conflict resolution, grief/loss, study skills, healthy relationships and art for relaxation. DeSales University is accepting applications for its High School Scholars program, allowing two EHS seniors to take a free college course during the spring semester. Due to the program’s selective nature, all applications are due 3 p.m. Nov. 17 – no exceptions. To obtain the application and all information, contact hgreene@eastpennsd.org by Nov. 15.

In the holiday spirit, the EHS Orchestra will host its annual winter concert 7 p.m. Nov. 17 in the EHS auditorium. The performance is open to all East Penn School District families.

With EHS’ winter sports season beginning Nov. 17, students and families may find complete game schedules at www.ehshornetsathletics.com.

On Nov. 22, EHS will dismiss 11 a.m., followed by school closure Nov. 23-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Students will return to school Nov. 28.

Offering standardized testing help, the SAT Prep Club meets every Friday during Hornet Homeroom in the Black Box (Room 004/005). Interested students may join the club’s Schoology group with code QPVB-R6P5-VTM9B, contacting skinzel@eastpennsd.org with questions.

Celebrating scripture and fellowship, the Bible Study Club meets 6:45-7:15 a.m. every Tuesday in Room 254. Due to meetings occurring before the school day, students must enter through Door 3 near the counseling offices 6:45 a.m. For more information, join the club’s Schoology group with code 22D5-XNX5-J3Q24.

Selling stationery, Hornet attire and more, the EHS School Store is open every day during Hornet Homeroom. To visit, students must present a signed pass from their Hornet Homeroom teacher.
