Allen/East Allen townships: Church selling filling, dressing

Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away! Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, Kreidersville, is taking orders for containers of raw filling and bacon dressing.

Orders are due by Nov. 14. To order, call Ellen Schaller at 610-262-6816.

Pickup will be 3-6 p.m. Nov. 21 in the church basement.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township, will be open for free tours of the three historic buildings, grounds and the new museum for the last time this year 1-3 p.m. Nov. 18.

No reservations are needed.

Lappawinzo Fish and Game Association, 25 Lappawinzo Road, Allen Township, will be holding a breakfast 8-11 a.m. Nov. 19. There is a cost for adults.

It’s not too early to think about the holidays! Governor Wolf Historical Society will host a Christmas wreath workshop 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25 and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 26.

Everything you need to create a beautiful, fresh holiday door wreath is provided - mixed greens, forms, florist bows and a variety of cones and other decorations.

Wildlands Conservancy’s fall 2023 photography contest will end 11:59 p.m. Nov. 30. Celebrating all 14 of the Wildlands Conservancy nature preserves, entries are accepted in a number of categories, including landscapes, macro, fauna, flora, family and friends.

Your subject can be anything, if it is appropriate and falls under the nature category.

Governor Wolf Historical Society will hold candlelight tours of five historical sites 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1.

The group will also host its holiday history festival Dec. 2 and 3.

The 41st annual Christmas house tours will be Dec. 2, featuring the same sites from the Dec. 1 tour. This time, you will be able to see the houses during the day.
