Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, are investigating what made adults and children sick inside a North Whitehall Township day care.

Police say Troopers were dispatched around 10:33 a.m. on Oct. 11 to the Lehigh Valley Children’s Center on Park Avenue for reports of adults and children feeling sick.

Eight infants and toddlers and five adults were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for headaches and dizziness, police say.

The cause of what made them ill was not determined.

According to police, the day care was closed for the remainder of that week while air quality specialists were brought in to determine the source.

Northern Valley EMS, Neffs Fire Company, Northampton Regional EMS, Lehighton EMS, and Lehigh County Special Operations assisted at the scene.
