NORTH WHITEHALL: Schnecksville Fire Company plans truck, car show

The Schnecksville Fire Company will host a car and truck show from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 14.

Fire trucks, tow trucks, 4x4s, Jeeps, muscle cars, imports and exotic vehicles will be featured.

Trophies will be given for first, second and third place in each division.

There will also be basket raffles and a 50-50 raffle. The kitchen will be open.

All proceeds will benefit Schnecksville Fire Company No. 1.

People are invited to enter their vehicles, and vendors will be accepted with a paid table fee.

Admission to the show is free.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will host Golden Times, a gathering for senior adults, noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

Everyone is welcome.

The day includes a free lunch and program.

The Rev. Jamison Baxter from Phoebe Ministries will present an art project.

People may bring donations for the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, invites children to join Sunday School for the 2023-24 term.

There are classes for toddlers from age 3 through sixth grade.

Children will sing, learn scripture, play games and do arts and crafts.

The curriculum is “The Diary of a Godly Kid.”

The church also has classes for young people through 12th grade.

In addition, St. John’s has two adult offerings on Sunday mornings, one a Bible study, the other a book discussion with a theological focus.

All Sunday classes begin at 9 a.m.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, has begun its new Sunday School season with classes for all ages meeting from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Each week during that time, adults gather for Happy Hour which includes presentations and discussions on a variety of church related topics.

The Oct. 1 class will examine creation from a technological perspective and the development of artificial intelligence.

Presenter Graeme Camp will take a look at the role of individuals in the matter.
