Coroner identifies deceased man

The Lehigh County Coroner’s office has identified an adult male who was pronounced dead at 1:58 a.m. July 16 in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

According to Coroner Daniel Buglio, the man has been identified as Josue Romero-Osorio, 19, of Allentown.

An autopsy was completed and the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, Buglio said in a July 19 news release.

Buglio says Romero-Osorio, who had no personal belongs on him, was found in the 600 block of Morris St., Allentown at 1:21 a.m. July 16.

Buglio said in addition to the coroner’s office, Romero-Osorio’s death is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department.

“I want to thank all the media outlets for sharing the ‘Attempt to Locate’ information and the public for posting and sharing the information on their social media pages,” Buglio said.

“The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center received numerous phone calls and emails, all of which were reviewed.

“On Tuesday evening, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the LCCO and FC received a phone call from a friend of Mr. Romero-Osorio, who was able to provide Assistant Chief Deputy Coroner Cassandra Schiffner with identification information, thus allowing Schiffner to personally meet with the family of Mr. Romero-Osorio.

“I also want to thank the following agencies for their assistance in this investigation: Allentown Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and the Department of Homeland Security.”
