July 14

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie will hold a free takeout community meal 4-5:30 p.m. The meal will consist of two hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips and dessert. Drive to the back doors to pick up meals.

July 15

Stuff the Truck Fundraiser hosted by the Emmaus High School music department 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the EHS senior parking lot. Items accepted include usable/wearable clothing for all seasons and sizes, shoes (bagged separately), belts, purses, hats, scarves, backpacks, gloves, ties, blankets, bed sheets, curtains, pillows, towels, comforters, stuffed animals and bikes. July 22-23

Lehigh Valley Passport to History, a celebration of historical places, will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 22 and noon to 4 p.m. July 23. Over 35 historical sites will participate including the 1803 House, 55 S. Keystone Ave., Emmaus, featuring vintage candle making, old fashioned toys and games and more. Other sites include Coopersburg Historical Society, Knauss Homestead, Lower Macungie Township Historical Society and the Shelter House. The Emmaus Historical Society will have a wine and cheese event with entertainment 5-8 p.m. July 21. The museum will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 22 and 23 with events for children planned.

July 24

The Joint Emmaus and Upper Milford Environmental Advisory Council will host a presentation by the Lehigh County Conservation District and Wildlands Conservancy about the riparian buffer area along Leibert Creek 7 p.m. at Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus.

July 24-28

Vacation Bible School at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 6-8:30 p.m. The theme is “Stellar, Shine Jesus’ Light” where kids will be launched on a cosmic quest to shine Jesus’ light in their world. For more information, email gsuccvbs@aol.com.

Aug. 2-3

Emmaus Garden Club presents: “Emmaus In Bloom,” a club flower show 1-8 p.m. Aug. 2 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. Free and open to the public.

Aug. 4-6

The annual Das Awkscht Fescht car show at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The event includes kids’ entertainment and activities, a flea market and car corral sale area, bingo, fireworks and displays of antique and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Aug. 3-13

Musikfest, often acclaimed as the largest free non gated music festival, will be held in Bethlehem at various venues. The festival will include music and dance performances, art displays, craft vendors, street performers and more. Visit the website www.musikfest.org for details.

Aug. 12-13

The Seed Farm will host its annual fall plant sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 12 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 13 at the farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road. The sale will feature cold and frost tolerant organically grown vegetable, herb and flower starter plants.

Aug. 20

The 71st annual Vera Cruz Homecoming will be held noon to 8 p.m. at Mystic Chain Park, Main Road East, Vera Cruz. There will be a cakewalk 3:15 p.m. DJ Cesar Rosario will broadcast live 3 to 5 p.m. Musical entertainment will feature The Rehrig Brothers noon to 3 p.m. and The Large Flowerheads 5 to 8 p.m. Food and beverages also will be available.

Aug. 25-27

The annual hot rod and custom car jamboree Wheels of Time will be held at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie. The show opens 7 a.m. each day. The event includes car displays, music performances, a flea market, arts and crafts vendors and a food court.

Sept. 7

Pinochle and bridge players are invited to The Woman’s Club of Emmaus’s Dessert Card Party 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. There is a cost. This is the premiere fundraising activity for the club’s scholarship program. There will be delicious desserts and prizes. To reserve a table, contact Sandy at 610-395-6434. Space is limited.
