Vacations

Vacations are a lot of fun

and everyone should try

to take at least one every year,

don’t let life pass you by.

It doesn’t matter where you go,

or how you choose to get there;

As long as you “pack up and go”

and head for anywhere.

You’d be surprised how much

it does for you to be away,

from all your daily problems,

and have some time to play.

A sunny beach is always nice,

relaxing and serene;

The feel of sand between your toes -

so warm, so soft, so clean.

If beaches aren’t your thing,

of course, there’s lots more things to do.

Like heading West to see

the wonders nature made for you.

The great Grand Canyon, Yellowstone,

and other spots like that.

There is no end of things to see,

just look upon the map.

The South is always pleasant,

hospitality abounds.

While traveling through the different states,

you’ll see some lovely grounds.

Like old plantations sitting there,

amidst the fields so green;

the scenery has to be among

the best I’ve ever seen!

The North with all its mountains

is a wondrous sight to see;

The rolling hills and valleys

are so graceful as can be.

The farmlands look like checkerboards,

From on the mountaintop.

To see the beauty of our land is thrilling,

you won’t stop your oohing and your aahing.

You’ll love the land so green.

You surely will agree that

Mother Nature must be seen!

The East has lots to offer

with its skyscrapers and such.

If you go to New York,

there is oh so very much

to do and see, you’ll be amazed,

You’ll look and stare and gawk,

at the tall buildings standing there

along your lengthy walk.

The Empire State Building

as we all know, is tallest in the world.

It stands majestically on the ground

with all its flags unfurled.

I said before and I repeat,

it doesn’t matter where,

Just get on up and pack your bags

and head for anywhere!
