EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. The names of my parents are Minal (mom) and Srinivas (dad). I have an older brother named Aditya and a younger brother named Krishna. I also have a dog named Emmie.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science. I have always been amazed by how things work and have always loved any science related class I have taken.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a part of the Emerging Health Professionals program, have received Principal’s Honor Roll all throughout high school and received Excellence in Broadcast and Film in 2022. Additionally, I received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Gold Level, am a member of National Honor Society and am an Eagle Scout.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I am currently involved in Scouts BSA, working on becoming a certified EKG technician and EMT and am a Hornet Ambassador. Previously, I was a member of Key Club, Red Cross Club, Interact Club and Habitat for Humanity. I also used to be a competitive dancer and was a Den Chief. These all have impacted my high school experience because they have shaped me into the person I am and have taught me how to handle various situations. It has helped me grow while meeting amazing people along the way.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been maintaining a balance throughout all aspects of my life. Finding the perfect balance of my school, home, work and social life has always been difficult because I often find myself prioritizing one over the other.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to go to Millersville University to further my education as a biology major on the pre-med track and then continue to Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to get my medical degree and become a physician.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my older brother because he has faced so many challenges but he still manages to hold his head up, have a smile on his face and be very lighthearted.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who is always ready to listen and help you out when needed.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers

A. My advice is to do what you love without worrying about anything else. There may be people who judge you, but that’s OK. Also, don’t do stuff just for a college application. It is better to put your time and energy into something you love rather than something that you don’t. No matter what, it will all work out in the end.
