Trojans oust EHS from EPC boys lacrosse playoffs

The Emmaus boys lacrosse team earned the No. 4 seed for the East Penn Conference playoffs and matched up against top seed Parkland in the semifinal round last Wednesday.

The Hornets, which had lost 14-8 to the Trojans to close out the EPC regular season on May 2, made it a little closer this time in a 16-12 setback last Wednesday.

Aiden Garrett scored four goals and assisted on one for Emmaus, while scooping up 20 ground balls and winning 27 of 33 face offs in the game.

Will Barber had three goals and two assists for the Hornets, while Kaleb Mains, John Hughes, Michael Chies, Jack Restino and Liam Rooney scored one goal each against Parkland.

Emmaus (12-6) will be back in action Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the District 11 playoffs as the No. 5 seed with a first-round match up against either Easton or Delaware Valley.

The Rovers (13-5) entered the week ranked fourth in the district, but they beat Freedom 10-9 in the EPC semifinals. A win over Parkland (16-2) in Tuesday’s title game could move Easton to the top spot and drop Delaware Valley (16-2) from third to fourth with a first-round match up against the Hornets, who would have to travel to Milford to take on the Warriors.
