SHS students see firsthand the effects of drinking and driving

A mock motor vehicle crash was held at Salisbury High School May 12, coordinated by the STARS club (Students Taking Active Roles), one day before the prom. The entire student body gathered at the front of the school to watch the effects of drinking and driving. Firefighters from both Eastern Salisbury Fire Department and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company cut a victim out of the car following the accident. This showed the seriousness of driving under the influence.

Crews on the scene assist the Lehigh County Coroner's Office in demonstrating what it's like to transport a fatal victim from the scene.
